Join our Volunteer, Air Force Veteran, Peer Support Specialist, and Writer/Author Steven Bates TONIGHT for "Mid-Week Musings!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).
We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support that Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV) is providing via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

TONIGHT's Topic: "Musings on the Music of Mancini!"

"What do liberating prisoners from a concentration camp and the Pink Panther have in common? Both were actions performed by Henry Mancini, an Army Air Forces veteran who was born on this day in 1924. Though he was born over a hundred years ago, Henry Mancini changed the world as we know it with his music, and his life was actually saved by it!
While serving in World War II, after he helped liberate a concentration camp in Austria, Mancini was transferred to the military band of the Army Air Forces, which actually saved his life, as his former unit was dispatched to the Battle of the Bulge and was killed to the very last man. After his military service, Henry actually became a member of the famed Glenn Miller orchestra. He was assigned to a temporary job writing music for Abbott and Costello which turned into a 6 year project composing music for TV and movies. That's when the true magic happened. Now is where everyone will recognize the music that affected the whole world. Though Mancini was nominated for over 70 Grammy awards (won 20) and 18 Academy Awards (winning 4), he is best known the world over as the man who brought the Pink Panther into our homes musically. How has Mancini affected your life? You'd be surprised!"

Let's talk about Mancini and how his music has helped soothe the savage beast in all of us on tonight's Warrior's For Life Mid-Week Musings with Peer Support Specialist, Air Force Veteran, and author Steven Bates.
