Join “Warriors for Life” (WFL) Group Support Community Services for an evening of Spiritual Healing Through Faith as Victory for Veterans Foundation presents and evening with SGT Steve McFarland.

I hope you can join us this Thursday evening for “Warriors for Life” WFL Group Support Community Service Healing Through Faith

Thursday night’s Topic: “The Lord is my Shepherd” Psalm 23

A little about Steve:

“This world is not my home, I’m just passing through. My wanderings in the wilderness have brought me to Loughman, Florida, where my RV has been parked since December 2012. I have been wandering this planet for over 63 years. My life thus far has been a long, winding, and often rough journey. It is also about the God who has relentlessly pursued me by His grace and love.

I am a Veteran, and a fellow-struggler in the ditches of life, who has had plenty of up’s and down’s in my life. One of my more “dubious” credentials is that I am a spousal-suicide survivor, having lost my wife to suicide in October 1997. I haven’t “arrived“. I am still a “work-in-progress“. I am an “unworthy-vessel“, a “jar of clay“, who has been entrusted with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, that He came into the world to save sinners, sinners such as I. My ministry isn’t “feel-good-religion” or “spiritual pop-psychology“, just meat and potatoes from the Word of God. One person described my ministry as a “spiritual steak-house“, and I hope it is.

My hope is that we can find usable, meaningful truth from God’s Word that we can apply to our everyday lives. We are broken people, in desperate need of healing, and God is the Great Physician. May He work through His Word and Spirit to bring healing to our lives.” Steve McFarland

Here’s a little about Thursday evening:

What Is Our Only Hope? – The Lord is my Shepherd

We are broken people, living in a broken world, and if we are truly honest with ourselves, there is far more brokenness in us than we would like to admit, which is why we act like we are “okay” even when we aren’t. We have learned to “put on a happy-face” even when we are crying inside because we don’t want those around us to know how broken we are.

We are faced with a crisis of hope in America today. Fewer people have true hope than at any time in the past. Disease, death, divorce, suicide, political and social instability, and the evil around us cause us to question whether there is any hope, let alone any reason to hope left. It wasn’t that much different three-thousand years ago when King David penned the immortal words of the 23rd Psalm: “The Lord is my Shepherd“. God, in the person of Jesus Christ, became a man so that He could bring us back into a right-relationship with God and with one another.Only God can heal our brokenness and make us whole again, but we have to trust Him to do what we can’t do for ourselves. He IS our ONLY hope.
