Any suicide is tragic – as a community there are actions we can take to minimise the likelihood of death by suicide. I’m always happy to support and help such organisations that provide suicide awareness and prevention support for veterans, defence personnel and their families who are experiencing or have been affected by the thoughts or actions of suicide.
In the US 22 Veterans commit suicide EVERY DAY. And in Australia, suicide has claimed more Australian soldiers’ lives than any war since 1999.
The purpose of this organisation all boils down to one thing: Taking care of America’s Veterans and their families. Raising awareness on some issues that we feel don’t get enough attention, and the attention they do get lacks meaningful action. Suicide, Homelessness, PTSD, TBI, and VA issues are the “flagship” issues, but that doesn’t mean there won’t be more.
Any support is always appreciated!.
