Take a real break this weekend by connecting with loved ones or experiencing the true pleasure of doing nothing!” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. A weekend is something that God has wanted for us. He did say that 6 days you shall work and rest on the 7th. This is the day that God rested, after he created the earth and lost that is within. I know that in our world today that there are many occupations that require working on weekends, but we should still designate a day that we rest in the Lord. He invites us into His rest to refresh ourselves and to come closer to Him. Have a blessed day today and always.

Interview with…
Weekend, a concept that I was never able to fully embrace. When flying you pulled a 7 day alert tour every 3 weeks, the weekend is when you had simulator missions if on alert. In civilian life I worked a Tuesday thru Saturday cycle so my weekends were different from most. In retirement I've learned that weekends are when you avoid going to stores at all costs since they are crowded with those who work. In honor of Memorial Day weekend I chose a meme with words from the now defunct B-52 Gunners mascot.
Good R.E.D. Friday morning Colonel.
