The “Colonel’s” VFV Motivational/Inspirational Quotes & Message of the Day and Week!

Good “R.E.D. Friday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the end of another week from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 20 May 2022!

Today’s Message is: “The Grass is Greener Day!” Why Not?

“Throughout life we’ve heard the saying, ‘The grass is greener on the other side or the grass is never greener on the other side.’ For leaders the grass can be greener on the other side and they can be successful if they are always curious, not getting too comfortable with where you are in your leadership role, but looking to always improve; always asking questions, if someone else’s grass is greener, what can we do to get ours just as green or greener — thinking outside the box; and finally put into action what you’ve learned about the greener grass on the other side – learn and implement!” Nurture, fertilize, water, and grow your grass greener to be a successful leader!" — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Guess I've been guilty of thinking like that a few times. Probably when I switched from B-52s to FB-111s is the best example of thinking the grass was greener, but the reality is the grass is what color you make it.

Sounds like it. Me and Bella have the Victory for Veterans - The Woodlands Charity Motorcycle Ride tomorrow for a big fundraiser - 140 miles, a stop at the Honor Cafe and then prizes at the end. Plus I scheduled this on her Birthday tomorrow - start in the "dog house" and will end up in there as well... LOL!

Good morning Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. If the grass is always greener on the other side, could it be that it is properly watered and cared for and that your side, that your standing on, has not? If so, you should probably start doing better. For me, I find that the closer I get to Jesus, the better things are for me and the greener my side looks. If we all would care for our side, the better the chances that the grass will green up on our side. Have a blessed day today and
