Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all my brothers and sisters here on VFV. My earlier post that I thought was posted, appears that it wasn’t. Par for the course for me. LOL. I look at this topic from two points today. First let me touch on the family. When we set an example for our children, by being there and supporting them every day and encouraging them to develop whatever skill sets they may have, they become more confident in themselves. This in turn will stay with them because they feel your presence even when you are not physically present, because you were supportive of them in their growth.

As a commander I always made it a necessity to visit every shop and watch every operation in my squadron. It always amazed me how many times I was told that this was the first time a commander had made a presence in the area.
