Good “Saturday!” Morning “Band of Brothers & Sisters,” and all great connections. Welcome to the weekend from the “Colonel’s Foxhole” in The Woodlands, TX — 20 July 2022!
Today’s Message is: “Sustain Day!” Why Not?
“What are the most important principles for leaders to sustain their influence? I would say it’s maturity and character. When it comes to maturity for leaders they need to put the needs of others before themselves and manage their emotions under direst. A leader’s character gives them the ability and discipline to do that! Sustaining character as leaders is about being honest, having integrity at all times, and making good decisions. When challenges arise leaders will be tested for flaws in their character. Character is challenged every day and leaders need to have sustained character strength. Do you possess sustained character strength and display maturity in your leadership?” — COL (Ret) Mikel Burroughs

Good afternoon Col Burroughs and all of my brothers and sisters here on VFV. This topic really hits home for me today. When I realize all that I’ve been through in life, I shudder to think of what it would be like if God did not sustain me. Way too many stories to tell, but the last one, I know for sure that I only survived is because God sustained me. Going through cancer and the ensuing radiation and chemo treatments was something that I know that I would have a real problem with, if I just depended on myself to get me through It. God got me through it, “One day at a time”. He will be there for…
The ability to sustain something is the trait that separates a leader from a great leader.
Good Saturday morning Colonel
