So many people in the world try to look inward for all the answers. Unfortunately that's like trying to anchor a ship by placing the anchor on its own deck. Instead the anchor must connect with something solid outside the ship in order to keep it from drifting.

In the same way, until we anchor on objective truth outside ourselves, we will constantly be drifting with the wind and current of our emotions and opinions. This simple truth explains much of what is wrong in our world today.

The only sure hope for our souls is to anchor it securely in the truth of God's Word. When we do, we are connecting to the very throne room of God Himself. That's a hope that is sure, safe, and secure!

We have this hope as an anchor for our lives, safe and secure. It enters the inner sanctuary behind the curtain. — Hebrews 6:19 (HCSB)
