Giving is certainly not all about money. We can give to others in so many ways beyond cash. At the same time, Jesus our finances are the “least” thing that God trusts us with. Money is the starting place.
It's not something folks want to talk about. But, according to Jesus, until we become faithful in how we handle our finances, moving on to other things is really getting ahead of ourselves.
The good news is this. As we learn to give and become more generous with our finances, it will naturally spill over into other areas of our life. Giving generously to others then becomes part of our lifestyle. That generosity will produce good fruit in your own life too.
He who is faithful in what is least is faithful also in much; and he who is unjust in what is least is unjust also in much. Therefore if you have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches? — Luke 16:10-11 (NKJV)
