Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

01 January 2025

Regret and worry are two weapons of the enemy that keep us from stepping into our destinies. Each looks in opposite directions, towards the past or the future. And each applies negative destructive emotions to those thoughts.

Regret looks back, not realizing that the past is behind us. God's mercies are new every morning to free us from the chains of our past mistakes. The world may try to define you by your worst day. But God think of you in your best day. Jesus already paid for your mistakes. So there is no point in dwelling on them.

While worrying looks forward, it really is nothing more than meditating about bad things that might happen, but mostly won't. Worry is driven by fear of the uncertain. In truth, before a thing happens, it’s just as possible that a good outcome will transpire as a bad one. If we choose to worry, we make bad outcomes more likely.

Instead, stay in “today.” Keep your mind in the present. Seek God. Prioritize His Kingdom presence throughout your day and you will see your regrets fade into insignificance while your worries about bad outcomes shift into more faith for good outcomes.

Happy New Year from NewCREEations!

You will keep him in perfect peace,

Whose mind is stayed on You,

Because he trusts in You. — Isaiah 26:3 (NKJV)
