Life brings problems. We aren't exempt from that reality, even as followers of Jesus. However, we are called to be overcomers. That is our new identity in Christ and who we were recreated to be.
Even more than being called, we are also equipped to overcome. God has already provided everything we need in Christ to live an overcoming life and thrive amidst the challenges and hassles life throws our way.
The way we overcome the problems the world throws at us is to shift our focus. It's not that we deny the problem. Instead it's a matter of lifting up and magnifying the Father, Jesus, and the things of the Kingdom of God. When we view our situation with that eternal perspective, our problems shrink away to insignificance.
For our light affliction, which is for the moment, works for us more and more exceedingly an eternal weight of glory, while we don’t look at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen. For the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal. — 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 (WEB)
