SHARING THE GOOD NEWS WITH THE WORLD
The shepherds were ordinary people working in the fields on an ordinary night when suddenly their world was turned upside down by the most extraordinary news.
And they came with haste and found Mary and Joseph, and the Babe lying in a manger. Now when they had seen Him, they made widely known the saying which was told them concerning this Child. And all those who heard it marveled at those things which were told them by the shepherds. Luke 2:16-18
The angel told them of the birth of Jesus, the Savior who had come into the world, and they could not wait to see Him. Their excitement and urgency remind us that the news of Jesus is worth dropping everything for.
When they arrived at the manger, they saw Him, just as the angel had said, wrapped in swaddling cloths, lying in a manger. It was not a grand throne or palace, but they knew they were standing in the presence of the King of Kings. This moment filled their hearts with joy and wonder, and they could not keep it to themselves.
The shepherds shared the message of the birth of Jesus with everyone they could. Their enthusiasm must have been contagious because the Bible says everyone who heard it marveled. These humble shepherds became the first evangelists, proclaiming the good news of Jesus to anyone who would listen.
This Christmas, as you reflect on the story of the shepherds, be inspired by their example. When you truly grasp the miracle of Jesus coming to earth, God stepping into our world to bring salvation, it should stir you to share that joy with others.
It could be through a kind word, an act of kindness, or even a heartfelt conversation. The message of Christmas is not just for you to cherish; it is for you to share. Just like the shepherds, be bold in sharing the news of Jesus this season so others can marvel at the hope and joy He brings.
Do you need Prayer? We are here to pray with you.
Heavenly Father, I ask You to use me this Christmas season to share Your love with others. I want to be used by You this Christmas to share this message of what Christmas really means. I ask You to lead me and give me the right words at the right time. I thank You and pray in the name of Jesus. Amen.
