What we focus on matters. The love Jesus has for us is far more impactful and powerful for our lives than even the love we have for Him. Far too many Christians make their worship time all about telling Jesus how much they love Him and scarcely acknowledge how much He loves us.
Peter was so sure of his love for Jesus that he said he would die with Him. Yet within hours of Peter’s declaration he denied even knowing Jesus.
On the other hand, John was "the disciple whom Jesus loved." As a result, John was the only one of the twelve disciples at the cross when Jesus died, and the only one who did not die a martyr's death. Which disciple would you prefer to be more like?
Ask God to show you how much He loves you today!
May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.
— Ephesians 3:19 (NLT)
