Part of renewing our minds as believers is learning to think more positively and find the good around us. Don't let the world fill you with fear and get you discouraged by obsessing about everything that's wrong around you.
Instead focus your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Make it a point to think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Meditating on these good things is the opposite of worrying.
Worry and anxiety keeps our mind in a state of fear as we contemplate all sorts of negative potential outcomes. It’s a sure way to kill your faith. When you instead focus on good things, as the Bible instructs us to do, you will move your mind towards faith and away from fear.
Besides, you will find that there is much more that's good in your life than you realize, if you only choose to look for it.
He who diligently seeks good seeks favor, but he who searches after evil, it shall come to him. — Proverbs 11:27 (WEB)
