We don't become sons and daughters of God because of anything we do. That change in status of adoption into God's family happens by faith as we accept what Jesus did on our behalf. And we are not distant foster children. Nor are we step-children.
Instead, in Christ we are now full status direct sons and daughters complete with a rich inheritance as joint heirs with Jesus. The Bible tells us that we are heirs to our Father’s entire estate. That’s an amazing inheritance available to us!
Our inheritance is not earned. It is granted to us because we are indeed children of God. We receive that inheritance by faith, not by works. |
