Gene’s Daily Scriptural Postings

26 October 2024

Until we make Jesus our source of who we are and what we do, we won't live the life of our new man and won't be walking in the Spirit. Too much of the time we continue living from the old man's ways. It's like we're keeping the memory of our old man alive because that's all we know. By doing that, the only time we truly rely on Christ is when we come to a weak area in our lives where our old man can't cope at all.

It’s good that we rely on Jesus during tough times. It’s certainly better than never learning to abide in Him at all.

But we will be far more victorious when we learn to put our old self entirely aside and continually walk in the spirit, fully focused and dependent on Jesus for all things, especially those things we’ve always been inclined to handle without Him in the past.

When we get to the point where we truly trust and rely on Jesus in all things, that’s the point we live entirely from our new identity in Christ and see consistent Kingdom results in our lives.

But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. — 1 Corinthians 1:27 (NKJV)
