Many blame God for sending the death, loss, and destruction they see happening in the world. However, God is not the one sending that mess into people's lives today. Instead, He's the one who is the source of deliverance from all that mess.
Jesus said He came that we might have abundant life, full until it overflows. He said that it's the thief who comes only to steal, kill, and destroy. This truth should form the very basis of our understanding of God’s nature and how He relates to us. We can use it as a plumb line to measure every circumstance.
If what’s happing to us is adding life, then it’s from God. If it is adding life, stealing from us, or destroying something we hold dear, then it’s from the enemy. Another way to say it is this. If it’s good, it’s from God. If it’s not, it’s not.
Instead of blaming God, learn His true character. He's longing to help you today in whatever situation you find yourself in. Hold onto hope!
