Identity is everything. Everything you do, everything you are, how you relate to other people, how you respond to the pressures life sends your way, and what you ultimately will achieve and become — all of that and more — ultimately flows from your identity.

The truth is, your identity determines your destiny.

That’s why it is so important to understand that when you chose to follow Jesus, it completely transformed your nature and made you an entirely new creation. Coming to truly understand this new identity you have in Christ and the person God created you to be liberates you from the control and fear of other people in your life.

As you come to know your new identity in Christ, you no longer find yourself compelled to impress others. That is a powerful place of freedom!
