Drop in TONIGHT with Warriors for Life (WFL) & Steven... "Laughter, the Best Medicine!"

Join our Volunteer, Air Force Veteran, Peer Support Specialist, and Writer/Author Steven Bates TONIGHT for "Mid-Week Musings!" edition of Warriors for Life (WFL) Online, sponsored and presented by Victory for Veterans, Inc. (VFV).

We are asking everyone to share who we are and what support Victory for Veterans provides via WFL. If you know someone who is a veteran, first responder or a family member/caregiver, please ask them to join us for at least one meeting so they can learn more about what we do and how they can share their wisdom with others who may be able to learn from them.

We thank you in advance for being our voice and sharing our program and mission with everyone you know that can help and in turn benefit from their peers in a safe environment - the more people that are aware, the more lives we can affect and save for another day.

TONIGHT's Topic: "Laughter, the Best Medicine!"

"Ahh Laughter, often called the best medicine, is a rare gift indeed. On this day in history, society was blessed to have two people born that have bestowed laughter upon the masses that has lasted throughout the ages.  Frank Sutton, the indomitable Gunnery Sgt Carter on Gomer Pyle USMC, and Weird Al Yankovich were both born on Oct 23, with Frank in 1923 and Alfred 36 years later in 1959.  Both excelled at entertaining the world and bringing joy into the hearts and homes of all who had the fortune to witness their talent.

Frank Sutton was more than an entertainer however, he was also an Army veteran who had 14 assault landings under his belt as well as having earned the Purple Heart.

Weird Al, was more than an entertainer as well, as a Valedictorian with an Architectural degree,

Yet, it's the laughter that these two provided society that made them so well known and for that we should be ever so grateful, for laughter lightens our loads, increases the dopamine levels in the brain, and reduces tension.  We as humans need laughter.  It's been known to reduce pain, protect from damaging effects of stress, and inspire hope."

Join the Warriors for Life Peer Support Group Mid-Week Musings with Air Force veteran, author, and Peer Support Specialist Steven Bates tonight as we discuss the benefits of Laughter, the best medicine."
