Steve Career Highlights & Successes
Property Accounting: Improved processes to enable increase of properties without adding staff. Improved A/P accuracy and speed. Improved monthly reporting; semi-automated which reduced time and staff hours. Voted best Controller by 5 board of directors of HOA’s we served.
Insurance: Built business from start-up to $25M with 23 locations in 4 years; success at Operations, Finance, Treasury and IT. Demonstrated #1 in three top careers in the state of CO. Integrated third party quoting systems into our web site for first of its kind online quoting systems saving agents up to 3 times the workload to requote annual reviews.
Construction/Cost Acct: Remodeling company & Fix/Renovate/Flip. Some properties were held for rental income until markets turned positive. Full scale accounting.
Property Management: …by taking action and motivating staff, brought property up to current in: fire & safety, building codes, building maintenance/repairs, heating system upgrade, grounds upgrade (tree removal, flower plantings, unwanted satellite dish removals, entrance enhancements, intercom system fix and the best improvement = tenant satisfaction and community development. All of this was done in a “difficult” and “special needs” facility. Their definition of difficult stemmed from these folks having had felonies, substance abuse backgrounds and homelessness. They proved to be wonderful people when treated with respect, dignity and given chances to improve.
Manufacturing: Helped facilitate two mergers and acquisitions, three SBA loans for purchase and construction, redesigned time & attendance systems across three diverse systems, consolidating into one set of financials
Manufacturing: Increased sales seven times and turned profits from -12% to +16%; business sold for a healthy profit to stakeholders. Increased inventory turns by 6 times thereby decreasing inventory holding costs and improving speed to market and enabling smaller builds and more customer responsiveness.
Software: Increased sales ten-fold – setting up business for sale. Developed staff of 25 in Sls & Mkt.
International business traveler: Had opportunities to work in the EMEA region, India, Philippines, Costa Rica, Canada and others. Had the privilege to work with the Dalit people of India and secure work for this “outcaste” group of people.
