Shawn D. Granger

Shawn D. Granger is an Honorably Discharged Air Force Veteran with 10 years of Active Duty and 5 years Air Force Reserves and Air National Guard.  Second generation Air Force he is the son of the late SMSGT Emanuel Granger (Ret. 1st Sgt.) and nephew of MSGT Wilbert Granger (Ret). Shawn was born on Eglin Air Force Base in Florida before moving to Howard AFB, Panama and Lowry AFB, CO.  By the time he was the age of six years old Shawn and his father were stationed on Andrew AFB in Maryland where he lived until his senior year of high school.  After graduating from Houston County High school in Warner Robins GA, Shawn enlisted as a 2A6X2 Aerospace Ground Equipment Specialist.  After training he served 3 years at Misawa Air Base, Japan.  He would retrain as a 1C3X1 Command and Control Operations Specialist while stationed at McGuire AFB, NJ apart of the 621st Air Mobility Operations Group (AMOG), Tanker Airlift Control Element (TALCE). He finished his decorated active duty career as an instructor for the Air Mobility Warfare Center Detachment, Hubert Field, FL.  He is a graduate of Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University with a B.S. in Professional Aeronautics. He also holds a Masters in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University, a Master’s in Business Administration from Belhaven University and Project Management Certification from Syracuse University.


After leaving active duty Shawn relocated to Houston, TX and began a career in project management, consulting and entertainment promotions.  He has held a Real Estate and Appraisal trainee license, but found his passion in various aspects of multifamily housing. He has served as a property manager, project manager and an asset manager for various apartment management companies in Houston.  He served as the Director of Marketing for Knowles Temenos and later returned as the Director of Properties for Temenos CDC which provides housing to the chronically homeless population of Houston TX.  During his time at Temenos CDC, Shawn was effective in stabilizing homeless veterans through the VA VASH program while providing wrap around services that enabled veterans and residents an opportunity to achieve gainful employment and a path to independent living.  


Shawn Currently is the COO for Grace Hub Inc.  a 501(c)3 in Port Arthur, TX that creates multi-faceted streams of community development & social fabric in the areas of disaster relief, care for children experiencing poverty/trauma, homelessness services and food insufficiency in underserved communities.  He is the President and CEO of Emanuel Media Group which produces and manages international Gospel writer and recording artist Ron Summers.  Their most recent EP entitled “God Can” was nominated for the 39th  annual Stellar Awards and has been considered for 2 Grammy nominations. Shawn has always had a passion for the entertainment industry recognized as an emcee, promoter and for his stage management.  He believes in producing media that is universal, uplifting and healing for the soul.


As a veteran Shawn is aware and has faced some of the challenges that his comrades are facing during and post service.  He has a servant heart and has a purpose to assist and serve those that have needs.  He is a minister of the Gospel at Loves Front Door International.  He has always been an advocate for veterans and is engaged with the community through various organizations and as a youth football, baseball and basketball coach.   Shawn is the father of a daughter Aliyah and son Shawn Emanuel Granger. He is a life member of the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity Inc. and Disabled American Veterans (DAV).


Shawn is excited about the opportunity to serve on the board of Victory for Veterans! With his background, experience and passion for helping those who serve us, he is ready to answer the call.  His expertise will enhance the vision and mission and assist in advancing the organization to higher heights.
